AUFBRECHEN

Aufbrechen (Geman)
1. to break; to break up; to force open
2. to set off; to start; to leave

4 sheets of black glass (20 x 30cm each, broken), sand (ca. 300 x 360cm), piano wire, light & shadow

Four black glass panes lie or float on a bed of sand. While the first glass is whole and embedded in the sand, the following three panes are broken into ever smaller fragments. This group of shards lifts off the ground whilst getting more and more chaotic - as if all wanted to become sand again.
