Un rien

un rien: a touch, a shade, a tiny bit
rien: nothing, (in questions) anything(!)

It is hard to capture the subtleness of this piece, light and the third dimension - or your own motion around the object - are soo vital. Yet here are some pics - click thumbs.

more on seeds

<< The dried remainders of the broad beans we grew this summer - and hidden within:  pink-black seeds.

The seed-head above - I found it recently while weeding one of our flowerbeds. No clue what it is though. It's about 3cm wide. Maybe next year, we'll find out what's hiding within...

Curators on sculpture today

An article by Katia David on sculpture network:

To mark its 10-year anniversary, sculpture network started 2014 by publishing curators' thoughts on sculpture being made in Europe today. An international jury composed by, Luis Chillida (ES), Judith Collins (UK), Florian Matzner (DE) and Oliver Wick (CH), selected the texts.

This month you can read Katia David's (Germany) ideas and see images of artists who illustrate them. [...]
Read on in english or in german.

Ink drawings

Pen on paper - writing without words.
While the white 3-D drawings need careful drafting and planning I don't know beforehand what will come out when I set pen on paper. It's just the impulse of hand and fingers and the flow of ink that direct the drawing. Quite meditative and a good contrast, not only colourwise, to the 3-D pieces I'm about to make.

Oval reflection

Oval reflection is on its way to Sweden. It is a piece similar to Globe. Yet instead of screen printed the silk threads are cyanotyped and then processed with sunlight.
